For sealing and strengthening porous and weak substrates, preventing dust formation, ensuring reliable adhesion of the finishing polymer coating, especially on glossy or polished surfaces, primer mixtures and vapor-permeable epoxy compositions DEFENS are used.
Versatility of DEFENS primer application

Two-component epoxy vapor-permeable film-forming primers for concrete and other mineral substrates can be used as standalone coatings.
The primer is used as a primer mixture for concrete when arranging thin-layer, monolithic, highly filled polyurethane and epoxy coatings in industrial, commercial, residential, and public buildings and structures, at transport infrastructure facilities, warehouses, terminals, parking lots, when arranging insulation lining of collectors, tanks, artificial reservoirs, etc.
It is used for priming concrete, screeds, plasters, colored and black metals, slate, tiles, bricks, artificial and natural stone, drywall, fiberboard, particle board, plywood, wood.
It is used for priming the screed before laying floor coverings (parquet, laminate, linoleum, etc.) and rolled waterproofing (PVC, EPDM, TPO, etc.)
Advantages and features of the material
- Easy to use water-soluble non-toxic material;
- No harmful impact on the environment;
- Increased resistance to abrasion, wear resistance;
- Exclusively high adhesion and permeability to all substrates;
- Possible application on damp and wet substrates;
- Holds negative hydrostatic pressure.
When additional quartz sand or other mineral filler is added, it is used to prepare putty, leveling, and repair polymer concrete mixtures.
Convenient to work with and a safe material for professional use.
Application Recommendations

Requirements for Properties and Preparation of Concrete Base
The properties of the concrete base and methods for preparing its surface must comply with current building and technical standards. The base must be strong, homogeneous, clean, dry, free from oils, fats, brittle areas, residues of old peeling coatings, and other contaminants that hinder adhesion. The main requirements for the concrete base: compressive strength – at least 20 N/mm2, tensile strength – at least 1.5 N/mm2.
The concrete base should be treated using abrasive tools, shot blasting, milling, or grinding equipment. For concrete floors with a hardened top layer, only shot blasting treatment is allowed. Carefully remove the dust generated during processing using an industrial vacuum cleaner.
Requirements for application conditions
The temperature of the primer components, the surface of the base, and the surrounding air in the work area: from +10°C to +25°C
Attention! The surface temperature of the base must be at least 3°C above the measured dew point both during the application of the primer and throughout the entire time required for complete polymerization/drying of the primer layer. Relative humidity of the air: no more than 70%
Method of application
Pour the entire volume of the two components A and B into a mixing container of appropriate volume and mix thoroughly to a homogeneous state for 2-3 minutes. Use a low-speed (300-400 rpm) electric mixer for mixing the components.
DO NOT MIX COMPONENTS BY HAND!
Attention! Depending on the reactivity of the components, the curing process of the epoxy composition is accompanied by the release of a certain amount of heat. The “self-heating” of the mixture of epoxy composition components in the mixing container can provoke its premature curing. Therefore, it is categorically not recommended to leave the prepared mixture of epoxy composition components directly in the mixing container for an extended period.
Application methods: brush, roller.
Packaging and storage
The primer is supplied in airtight plastic containers. The set consists of two components (A, B), with a total weight of 10 kg; 20 kg. Store the primer in a tightly closed container, protecting it from moisture and direct sunlight, away from heat sources, at a temperature of +5 to +30°C. Do not freeze! The warranty storage period is 6 months from the date of manufacture without violating storage conditions.
Tool cleaning
Working tools and equipment should be rinsed with water immediately after use. Cured mixture can only be removed mechanically.
Safety measures

Persons working with epoxy primer must be provided with personal protective equipment. All work must be carried out in rooms equipped with supply and exhaust ventilation. In case of material contact with skin or eyes, rinse thoroughly with water, and seek medical attention if necessary. After complete drying and polymerization, the primer (putty) layer is completely safe and permitted for use in seamless polymer coating systems in public, residential, and industrial premises, including food production, catering enterprises, pharmaceutical industry, agriculture, and in children’s and medical institutions.
When carrying out work, use personal protective equipment, avoid contact with eyes, respiratory tract, and skin. Keep away from fire.
For sealing and strengthening porous and weak substrates, we recommend using primer mixtures and vapor-permeable epoxy compositions DEFENS, which have a wide range of applications.
