DEFENS PE-04 Repair Epoxy Warehouse

The epoxy compound is used as a repair compound for concrete when installing thin-layer, monolithic, high-filled polyurethane and epoxy coatings in industrial, commercial, residential, and public buildings and structures, at transport infrastructure facilities, warehouses, terminals, and parking lots.

It is intended for repairing bases, cracks, potholes, cavities, and surface defects before applying the final polymer coating.

It is used as a material for producing polymer skirting boards.

Requirements for the properties and preparation of the concrete base

The surface of the base must meet the requirements of TNPA, have load-bearing capacity and stable shape, be level, free of damage, clean, dry, without traces of cement (lime) milk, dirt, dust, oils, rubber wear products, old floor coverings, and other substances, cracks, and cavities. Single-component old paint coatings and two-component unbound coatings should be removed.

Removal of cement milk, oiled areas, and leveling of the surface is carried out using shot blasting, milling, or grinding machines. After grinding, the surface is dusted with industrial vacuum cleaners. Cleaning of hard-to-reach places is done with manual grinding machines.

If necessary, large cracks are reinforced using metal anchors or fiberglass mesh.

Installation of expansion joints

Deformation, isolation, shrinkage, and temperature joints of the polymer floor must coincide with the expansion joints of the underlying concrete base (screed).

The installation of joints begins after the preparation of the base.

Before laying the floor covering, the edges of the joint are milled (chipped) with a special cutter to a depth of 5-10 mm. The width of the joint is from 20 to 50 mm.

Dust is blown away. The boundaries of the area to which the primer is applied are pre-taped with painter’s tape, the joints are primed, and the joint is filled with DEFENS PE-04 repair to level with the surface using the wet-on-wet method.

Installation of the polymer skirting board.

The skirting board is made by laying the material on the prepared surface of the base and wall, and a pipe with a profile of 10 cm forms the required shape of the skirting board.

When sealing large technological openings, skirting boards, thresholds, and joints, the layer is not limited in height.

All repair areas must be primed with Defens PE-01, Defens PE-02, Defens PE-04 primers.

Attention: there is a slight shrinkage during polymerization.

Consumption: 1 kg of the mixture fills a volume equal to 0.0006 m3.

Requirements for application conditions

The temperature of the components, the surface of the base, and the surrounding air in the work area: from +10°C to +25°C.

Attention! The temperature of the surface of the base must be at least 3°C higher than the measured dew point both during the application of the primer and throughout the entire time required for complete polymerization/drying of the primer layer. Relative humidity of the air: no more than 80%.

Method of application

Pour the entire volume.Combine components A and B into a mixing container of appropriate volume and mix thoroughly until homogeneous for 2-3 minutes, then add component C.

For mixing components, apply a low-speed (300-400 rpm) mixer with electric drive.

DO NOT MIX COMPONENTS BY HAND!

Attention! Depending on the reactivity of the components, the curing process of the epoxy composition is accompanied by the release of some heat. The “self-heating” of the mixture of epoxy composition components in the mixing container can provoke premature curing. Therefore, it is strictly not recommended to leave the prepared mixture of epoxy composition components directly in the mixing container for an extended period.

Application methods: brush, roller.

Packaging and storage

The material is supplied in airtight plastic containers. The set consists of three components (A, B, C), total weight – 5.5 kg; 11 kg, 22 kg. Store the material in a tightly closed container, protecting it from moisture and direct sunlight, away from heat sources, at a temperature of +5 to +30°C. Do not freeze! The shelf life is 12 months from the date of manufacture without violating storage conditions.

Cleaning of tools

Working tools and equipment should be rinsed with water immediately after use. The hardened composition can only be removed mechanically.

Safety measures

Persons working with epoxy primer must be provided with personal protective equipment. All work should be carried out in rooms equipped with supply and exhaust ventilation. In case of contact with skin or eyes, rinse thoroughly with water, and if necessary, consult a doctor. After complete drying and polymerization, the primer (putty) layer is completely safe and allowed for use in seamless polymer coating systems in public, residential, and industrial premises, including food production, catering establishments, pharmaceutical industry, agriculture, and in children’s and medical facilities.

When carrying out work, use personal protective equipment, avoid contact with eyes, respiratory tract, and skin. Keep away from fire.

Instructions for use

Prepare the base (apply primer PE-02, PE-04);

Mix Component A with Component B (base + hardener);

The ratio is 1.0 kg of component A to 0.5 kg of component B;

Mix mechanically for 1 minute;

Add component C, slowly pour in while continuously mixing;

The ratio A:B:C=1:0.5+4.0 (Sand);

Mix mechanically in 3 minutes.;

Perform reuphBolstering or filling of cracks;

Material lifespan is no more than 40 minutes;

After hardening (sanding is allowed after 12-24 hours).
