DEFENS WD-1 Fire Protection Impregnation for Wood
Fire protection impregnation for wood with deep penetration based on a solution of active inorganic components in water, with antiseptic properties, colorless, fast-drying.
Specifications
Fire protection wood impregnation DEFENS WD -1 is a deep-penetrating solution based on a mixture of active inorganic components in water, with antiseptic properties, colorless, and fast-drying. It is intended for comprehensive wood protection: increasing fire resistance and protection against decay and mold in residential, public, and industrial buildings, cottages, and garden houses. It is used for treating wooden elements of structures (rafters, beams, trusses, scaffolding, ceilings, cladding, partitions, walls, and other sawn, planed, or hewn materials) and wooden products (OSB panels and MDF products).
Purpose and area of application
Used as an intumescent fire protection coating for wooden or other structural elements where fire protection is required.
Intended for objects where wood or wooden structures are located in an indoor environment.
Advantages and features of the material
- Intumescent properties: forms an insulating foamed layer at high temperatures.
- The mixture has properties that allow for the application of a decorative layer on top after drying.
Application recommendations
Surfaces must be cleaned of dust, dirt, and residues of other coatings before application.
Apply only to prepared, dry wood or other substrates.
After drying, the application of a finishing lacquer or coating material is possible.
Requirements for properties and substrate preparation
Wood or other substrate must be dry, free of defects, without signs of decay, moisture, or damage.
The surface must be roughly leveled, without roughness, burrs, or protrusions that may affect the uniformity of the coating.
Requirements for application conditions
The application temperature should be in a moderate range (usually +5 °C or higher) to avoid drying defects (cracking or delamination).
Relative humidity should not be too high to avoid negative effects on the drying process.
Method of application
Applied with a brush, roller, or spraying in one or several layers.
Each subsequent layer should be applied after the previous one has dried.
Decorative or finishing coatings are applied only to a completely dried fire protection layer.
