DEFENS AL.UR-02 (1K) Alkyd-urethane ground enamel
Single-component alkyd-urethane primer-enamel containing anti-corrosion additives that enhance the protective properties of the formed coating. Modification with polyurethane increases resistance to aggressive environments and UV radiation.
Specifications
Designed for painting metal and concrete with a long service life of up to 10 years. It has increased resistance to atmospheric influences.
It can be applied by air and airless spraying methods, as well as with a roller and brush. Due to the low toxicity of the solvents contained in it, the primer-enamel is convenient to apply. It can be used as a primer, as a standalone coating, and as a finishing layer in anti-corrosion protection systems for steel surfaces subjected to mechanical and chemical influences, as well as atmospheric influences in humid climates and industrial environments.
Recommended for painting rolling stock, automotive transport, bridges, steel and reinforced concrete structures, equipment in the chemical and petrochemical industries, port and waterfront facilities, marine and river vessels, power line towers, etc.
Coloring in any color at the request of the customer according to the RAL scale is possible.
Optimal budget coating
Requirements for the substrate
The metal surface must be dry, cleaned of rust, debris, dust, grease, and other contaminants that may act as separators. If necessary, treat the substrate by sandblasting or shot blasting to a degree of Sa 2-2.5 (ISO 8501-1:2007). After cleaning, the steel or galvanized surface must be dusted and degreased.
Stone surfaces and those containing cement must be clean, dry (moisture – no more than 5%), free of traces of cement milk, dirt, oil, withstand design loads (compressive strength of at least 200 kgf/cm2), and not contain loose and adhered particles. If necessary, treat the substrate by sandblasting or shot blasting, milling, or grinding. After treatment, dust the surface and impregnate with DEFENS materials.
Previously painted surfaces suitable for repainting. Remove contaminants (e.g., grease and salts) that interfere. Surfaces must be dry and clean. Old surfaces with paint that has exceeded the maximum time for applying the next layer must be sanded to roughness. Damaged areas of the surface must be treated according to the substrate preparation and maintenance instructions. The location and timing of the preliminary surface preparation for painting should be chosen so that the treated surface remains dry and clean until the next stage of painting the product.
Application
Before application, thoroughly mix the primer-enamel for at least 5 minutes until a homogeneous consistency appears. Apply to the prepared substrate by air and airless spraying, with a brush, or roller. To obtain the material of the required working viscosity, the addition of a mixing solvent (solvent) is possible.
The surface to be painted must be dry and have a temperature at least 3 °C above the dew point. The recommended number of layers is 1-2. Carry out the work according to the ISO 12944-7:2017 standard.
Packaging and storage
Store the paint in a tightly closed container, protecting it from moisture and direct sunlight, away from heat sources, at a temperature from -20 to +30°C. The warranty shelf life is 12 months from the date of manufacture without violating storage conditions. Minor delamination is allowed during prolonged storage, which does not affect the quality of the material.
Cleaning of tools
Working tools and equipment should be rinsed with solvent R-4 immediately after use.
Safety measures
This product is intended for professional use only in industrial facilities according to the recommendations provided here, as well as instructions. Safety instructionsprovided to customers along with the containers containing the paint. All work, including the application and use of the product, must comply with health, safety, and environmental protection requirements, as well as all regional standards and guidelines.
When carrying out painting work, use personal protective equipment, avoid contact with eyes, respiratory tracts, and skin. Keep away from fire.
