DEFENS ROAD Single-component paint

Defens RO AD paint is a suspension of pigments and fillers in an acrylic resin solution with functional additives and a solvent. When glass beads are added in a ratio of 20-30% to the mass, it forms a reflective coating.

Purpose and Scope of Application

The paint is used for horizontal marking of the roadway of roads, pedestrian crossings, parking lots, production and warehouse premises, and other asphalt and concrete surfaces.

Advantages

– quick drying;
– abrasion resistance;
– resistance to water and saline solutions;
– resistance to low temperatures and ultraviolet light;
– high whiteness.

Method of Application

Surface Preparation. The paint is applied to a dry surface, cleaned of dust, sand, oils, and other contaminants. The moisture content of the concrete base should not exceed 18%, and for asphalt, it should not exceed 10%. The road surface must be free of potholes and deformations and, if necessary, washed and dried.

In the case of marking a new asphalt surface, the paint should be applied no earlier than 5 days after its installation.

The temperature of the surface to be painted should be at least 3 °C above the dew point.

Before use, the paint should be thoroughly mixed and, if necessary, diluted to working viscosity with solvent or xylene in an amount not exceeding 5%. Adding a larger amount of solvent may lead to an excessively thin film and, consequently, a reduced service life of the coating.

Conditions for Work. The paint is applied at air temperatures from +5 to +30 °C and relative humidity not exceeding 80%.

The base temperature should be within +5 to +45 °C.

Before starting work, it is necessary to set up technical means for organizing road traffic according to the schemes for securing work sites (VSN 37-84 and GOST 23457-86).

Work should not be carried out in high humidity conditions or on the base during atmospheric precipitation, fog, or dew.

Methods of Application:

– with special marking machines,
– by pneumatic spraying,
– with a brush or roller.

Consumption of Defens RO AD: 600-700 g/m² at a wet layer thickness of 400-600 microns. Consumption of glass beads (fr. 100-600 microns): 300-350 g/m².

Storage

The paint should be stored in tightly closed containers, protected from moisture and direct sunlight, away from heat sources, at a temperature from -30 to +30 °C. The warranty storage period is 6 months from the date of manufacture. Slight separation is permissible during long-term storage.

Cleaning of Tools

Working tools and equipment should be rinsed with solvent or xylene immediately after use.

Safety Measures

During painting work, individual protective equipment should be used, and care should be taken to avoid paint contact with eyes, respiratory tract, and skin. Keep away from fire.
